Late to bed and up too early. Tired but excited, I packed and re-packed, making all the difficult decisions and finally wandering the house, just looking around. At first I thought that I was trying to find something I’d forgotten to pack, before realising that some part of me was trying to breathe in the home we’d made and try to take some essence of it with me… Leaving was bittersweet, but I could already feel that old familiar tickle of excitement and the unknown beckoning me on. Us on. I donned my trusty Converse, briefly wondering what kind of state they’d be in on our return, said goodbye to the cats (at least the one that wasn’t cowering in a dark cupboard somewhere) asking them to look after the new tenants while we were gone… and closed the door behind us, taking the first step of many towards the next great adventure!
