Sweat and lighthouses 🥵

We left Oviedo today in a shared car service because there were no bus tickets left (!) and the Feve train at its slow speed would take over 7 hours. And on such a sunny and hot day, we’d rather not be on a train no matter the good views. In A Coruña, Terry got to reminisce about his trip with Rose Marie and we saw more of the town than he last did. We tried the local octopus dish and wandered the old town and the beach. We “had” to see the oldest lighthouse in the world and walked out to it in the sweltering heat. Back at the station we were good and sweaty and took the train onward to Santiago de Compostela. After all the heat, I had the best shower so far. Terry had even asked me if I had already showered, but I was just drenched in sweat and suntan lotion. Felt a little more alive after freshening up, and had a nice little dinner with the local Galician beer (1906) and cider (Maeloc) and read up about St. James who is the origin of all the pilgrim routes culminating in this town.
