Arriving at our overpriced hotel in London, we hit the shops to buy a shirt for me (and of course Katrine ended up with a new dress) so we could look the part for our evening excursion aboard a slice of history.

The journey, including 3 course meal and champagne didn’t disappoint. As the English countryside rolled by we enjoyed the leisurely pace and relaxed conversation on board with our co-travellers and each other. There’s something about travelling by train that conjures up a bygone age. We loved the pomp and circumstance and romance of it all and it ended too quickly, but what a great experience.

Thank you Mr.Watt! (sidebar: Watt didn’t actually invent the steam engine, as is commonly thought, but did improve upon the technology markedly). Patriotic nerdgasm over.
