After a hearty bowl of porridge at our lovely wee hostel we headed into the heart of Skye, driving a circuit of the beautiful Trotternish loop before ending up in Portree. The Isle had a dark and stormy beauty and a rugged landscape to match.

Our next stop was Glenfinnan and the Glenfinnan Sleeper, a converted train carriage turned into a quirky, fun and romantic bunkhouse.

We took advantage of the cooking facilities, knocking up some tasty food and washing it down with a delicious Glennfinnan ale.
There was a bit of drama when some fellow travellers set off the fire alarm attempting to make their dinner. The owners soon turned up and sorted things out though.
We also had a nice chat with Thomas who also had plans to conquer Ben Nevis the next day before turning in for the night to prepare for our hike the next day.
