Church cat and Oban

Sootie

Finally a cat day! At St Conan Kirk, this friendly feline took a good portion of my dreamies and nearly my finger in the excitement. According to the cafe next door to the church, she has been known to walk brides up the aisle in the church, but was unfortunately moving away now. The church itself was very special with animal sculptures and a mix of styles. It felt like a mini-cathedral. After that stop we drove to Oban because after so much fried food we were yearning for proper seafood. We checked out a proper Harris Tweed shop (did you know most of the tourist shops have Harris tweed but not locally sewn?). Our visit to the waterfront Fishhouse was excellent. I don’t know if it’s been the overload of fried food and processed meat, but never have I eaten larger mussels or creamier oysters. We arrived at Aite Cruinnichidh (pronunciation anyone???) to our hostel. Unfortunately, I found a little bird had ended its life in the front of our grill that day… Not intentional murder, but it’s definitely homicidal birdslaughter. Terry doesn’t want to talk about it.
