Our fourth day on the West Highland Way. The ascent to the Highlands has begun, but it was gradual so the day was relatively easy. Either that, or we’ve gotten used to the long hiking days. We left Drovers Inn which had an abnormally large taxidermic exhibit of animals, including an abomination of 3 animals in 1 labeled “the wild haggis”. The story next to it was funny, but all the animals were a bit creepy. No wonder the wifi password was “Haunted Inn”. Along the hike, we saw an interesting graveyard with graves of which some were dated back to the 7th century. We stopped by Saint Fillans well where people used to swim and perform rituals (and then be tied down and placed under a bell and hay for a night) to cure mental illness. Sounds more like a method for inducing mental illness. We also met a very trusting robin that jumped towards us and just would not fly away even after he received a smashed peanut that he nearly choked on. After numerous comments about birds, rodents, sheep, flowers and mushrooms, Terry said that I should have a nature show on tv called “Å, neimen! Å!». In Tyndrum, we arrived at our cute Hobbit Hut where we will spend the night. We had to walk a few hundred meters to the pub for our dinner and saw a sight we’ve gotten used to in the last few days: the majority of people wobbling and hobbling like they’re racing for the bingo at the old people’s home. Us included.
