We’re nearing the end of our highland adventure, today is the second to last day of wandering the beautiful Highlands of Scotland with my lassie by my side. The home stretch of these last two days had been described as challenging, but we were up to the challenge (at least today).

The Devil’s staircase did prompt a few breaks on the way up its heights, but otherwise the scenery was its usual glorious self and the days hiking past quickly. We spotted some eagles on the way up the staircase and the mountains flanking us were incredibly beautiful.

We made good time and arrived in Kinlochleven, tired and hungry. A quick shower later (we’d skipped the luxury the night before, because the showers cost an additional quid and we’re cheap, or minkers as they say in this neck of the woods) and we were trotting along to the local pub for some delicious grub and a wee dram. Lovely.
