On our way to circle back to Aberdeen to finish our Scotland tour, we first stopped at the Horn. It’s a cafe that Terry used to go to when he was young and reckless with his friends to have their tasty bacon rolls. It turned out that in the meantime they’ve become very famous for their bacon roll, so much so that they have separate road signs on the highway and feature a gift shop! Admittedly, their bacon roll was good. Our second stop before Aberdeen was Montrose. A place I have mixed feelings about because I stayed here for four months fifteen years ago when I just started working as a wireline engineer. The beach is beautiful, and the Market Arms where my colleagues and I spent many fun nights was exactly the same. The local church was no different either. The house we stayed in was completely revamped and is now a cute hotel on the golf course. We even stopped by the gym I went to which looked much nicer. I hope they still run their Bums & Tums classes, where there was more gossip going on than crunches. Before leaving Montrose we drove by the wireline training facilities which just made my tummy churn. Terry’s sister was kind enough to let us stay for another couple days with her. We emptied our bags for some overdue laundry and settled in the couch for mindless Family Guy evening entertainment.
