Disneyland – Day 1

After a hearty breakfast and armed with snacks and plenty of water we headed for day one of our Disney adventure. Arriving just after opening time. Our first ride was an incredible Indiana Jones adventure that blended special effects and a wild rollercoaster ride through chambers and tunnels. It was incredible and set the mood for the rest of the day. We experienced a dizzying (literally) array of rides. The Star Wars section of the park was particularly impressive. We found x-wings, incredible space ports and even a full size Millennium Falcon, not to mention countless nerds in Jedi cloaks, wielding plastic light sabres.

I had to of course pilot the Falcon with Katrine at my side playing Wookie co-pilot. The interior was like most areas of the park very well done, no detail missing, th ride itself was fun too, despite our pro piloting performance, which I’m putting down to my inexperienced co-pilot.

Later in the day we experienced the rise of the resistance, which was also an incredible ride, and probably my favourite park experience.

Katrine insisted that we do as many rides as possible, rollercoasters, virtual rides, experiences etc. which involved lots of walking, well over 20k but luckily we had a lightening lane pass so only had to queue for more than 30 mins a couple of times, it was still a 16 hour slog but we ticked all the boxes and went home happy but exhausted (with a quick pitstop at Denny’s to make sure all that exercise was for nought).
