From the City of Angels to Sin City

So, Disneyland has been taken care of and it’s Las Vegas next. On our way, we stopped by the first McDonald’s. It is no longer serving burgers, but memories. The guy working there just looked at us and sighed when we said we were driving Route 66 to Las Vegas, and continued to tell us about the no AC, windows down rule to prevent the car from overheating. We thought he exaggerated but it turned out there were actual signs along the road saying the same. It is the middle of the desert after all. We even drove by a traffic jam caused by a recently burnt out vehicle at the side of the roads. Before that we stopped at a Rowan motel and at Elmer’s bottle tree farm. A quirky place with hundreds of “trees” made of empty bottles. The rest of Route 66 was like out of a movie. In Las Vegas, we checked in to the Rio and headed straight for the Absinthe show. While we waited for it to begin, we tried an Impossible Burger. I thought they had switched it with a real one! Never have I tried a vegetarian burger like that! It even looks real with red juices and a pink core. We also bought the most expensive water bottle of my life: $11+tax and tip. The same amount our first night at the hotel cost! And I thought Norway was expensive. The Absinthe show was very offensive, very vulgar, and very funny. Stunning acts of acrobatics, juggling, balancing and burlesque. Recommended.
