We left L.A. behind us, safe in the knowledge that we would venture back soon enough.

We had a wonderful train trip, travelling up the West Coast on the Pacific Surfliner, with great views, I compliments of the window facing lounge chairs. Gorgeous. The experience was enhanced and disturbed in equal measure by our encounter with Bibi, the legit presidential candidate, author, inventor and jovial fellow (apparently the weird extends north). The crazy didn’t stop when we got to Solvang. A litte slice of Scandinavia… In California.

What a bonkers, incredibly cute slice of heaven. I would never have believed it if I hadn’t seen it. 

We started with a Danish beer and hot dog then we checked into our lovely little hotel room and went wandering, where we were met with all wonder of Scandinaviain shops and restaurants. After freshening up we went for some local craft beers and pub grub at the local brewing company before turning in for the night. 

The next day was filled with more of the same before we had to hightail it back to the train station for the next leg of our train adventure. Choo, choo.
