See you later, crater

Early up for a long day of touring in our rental. Packed our bags with snacks and clothes (it rains a lot on this island apparently). We started along the south coast of the island and stopped by a black sand beach with sea turtles. We saw several of them frolicking in the water right by the beach, but had to keep our distance since it’s a federal offense to touch them and you can’t be closer than 15 ft. We drove through the southernmost town in the USA, and then entered the volcano National park. We spent more than 5 hours here looking at steam vents, walking through a lace tube, down in a volcano crater and looked at many other volcano craters from viewpoints. The day ended with a stop at the Holei sea arch with the sunset at the end of chain of craters road. We coincidentally met a Norwegian family in the Kilauea Iki crater. And not only were they Norwegian, they were from Randaberg! What are the chances?
