Street market and light festival

Fighting through my sore throat and missing voice, I went to the Namdaemun day market with Terry. It was freezing cold today. So much so that the Korean government sent out warnings to all phones about the decrease in temperature and high gusts. We alternated between not feeling our extremities and going inside shops to warm up. We tried some dumplings, and some sweet fried dough things, and honey pancakes that are popular in Korea. I loved them all. We picked up some Korean ginseng and seaweed, and on our walk back I also bought Korean foot and face masks that come in all varieties, even snail slime and placenta…

At the end of the night we walked through the exhibits at Gwanghwamun market for the light festival this month. There was also an outdoor concert going on with a k-pop band that we had no idea who were but the surrounding screaming crowds obviously did.

And then I had to turn in, as my tonsils were the size of golfballs and I could barely swallow. Terry continued his adventures and came back with more stories about street food and strange shopping items.
