Four very standard British days in the capital of the UK, staying at, you guessed it, The Standard. The first night took us to a lecture at the Royal Institution on Paranormal activity by Chris French. Naturally, all experiments that were done debunked the myths about paranormal activity – but as science goes – it does not rule it out, but it cannot yet prove any supernatural events, and so it will stay in the category of fiction. I intend to read his book with the informal title: “The science of weird shit”.
The remaining days, we crammed in a few shows and markets. We wandered about Camden market looking at other “weird shit” that was far from paranormal or normal. The best show was Player Kings based on Shakespeare’s Henry IV with none other than Ian McKellen. You may know him better as Gandalf. The next day we got last minute tickets to Guys and Dolls. Very interestingly done with the audience sitting on all four sides, and even ON stage, a stage that was constantly being rearranged and moved. And what visit to London would be complete without an afternoon tea?
The last day, we had a stop at Benihana’s in Covent Garden for lunch before flying home.
