The West Highland Way – Day 5

We (reluctantly) left our hobbit hut and made for our next destination, Orchy bridge, which would prove to be a short and relatively relaxing hike, intermittent but light rain notwithstanding.

We sauntered through the neverending highland splendour, enjoying the freedom, scenery and each other’s company before arriving at our accommodation for the night.

The West Highland Sleeper was a great find. A delightful bunkhouse within the working train station of Orchy run by a friendly host. After getting settled we headed to the local hotel for our customary sustenance of food and beer.

Upon our return we chatted with our fellow bunkers about sea monsters,  travel and life, and for once Katrine did more talking than me, when she found a kindred spirit in a German engineer. The time flew by and suddenly it was time for bed and a good night’s sleep.
