Terry finished his Scottish pilgrimage by visiting the Bannockburn battle site where Robert the Bruce won a great victory against the English. The tour at the visitor center was entertaining and allowed us to handle the weapons and dress up in period attire. In the words of the tour guide: “You’re never too old for that”. I then got to indulge in my guilty pleasure, the bargain store. Onwards to Edinburgh where the main event for the evening took place. The Edinburgh military tattoo was amazing and fascinating. A conglomeration of the military drill teams of different nations, with fireworks to top it off. Norway’s King’s Guard being the best, naturally.
