We packed and ubered to the airport excited to finally be heading to the big island. 

Arriving in Hawaii, we picked up our hire car, where we were lucky enough to get a free upgrade. We, of course, selected a sensible, conservative ride.

Drifting sideways out of the hire car lot we made for our Airbnb, which turned out to be a lovely big apartment on a nice resort. 

We unpacked and went shopping for some essentials (and food). It struck us again how expensive the food is over here, I guess it’s part and parcel of having to have so much of it imported.

We returned home and had an early(ish) night to prepare for day 1 of our epic road trip. #excited.
