We got up early to spend the morning driving around the North shore. We rented a car and put on the Shaka audio guide that told us about everything we saw and where to stop on the North shore. Shark cove was great for snorkeling (but not sharks though). In the afternoon we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It’s like an educational Epcot center but for six of the Polynesian islands. Every island has shows about their cultural heritage. They’re entertaining and educational. Samoa was the best with a hilarious Samoan, Kap, telling us about how to open coconuts and start a fire, and then climbing a coconut tree with no help before finishing it off with a fire twirling show. The “HA breath of life” show at the end of the night was also super with dances and stories from all the islands with a volcano backdrop.
